AIM OF THE COURSE:
The educational aim of the electrical engineering programme is designed to produce competent engineers who are ready to contribute effectively to the advancement of electrical engineering causes and to accommodate the needs of the profession. The graduates shall:
- Practice electrical engineering in Power System Drives and Control.
- Contribute to technical and economic development of society.
- Pursue higher education and work for research and development of society.
Electrical Engineers will demonstrate an ability to identify, formulate and solve electrical and power engineering problems.
Electrical Engineers will be able to design electrical circuits and electrical machines, develop computer programs and conduct experiments to analyze and interpret data.
Electrical Engineers will be able to design digital and analog systems and components.
Electrical Engineers will have an ability to work as both an individual and in a team in electrical and electronics engineering or multidisciplinary field exhibiting the leadership qualities.
- Electrical Engineers will be skilled to use modern engineering tools, software and equipment to analyze problems.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. It now covers a range of subtopics including power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications. The main aim is to ensure the safe usage of electricity. For this purpose they are given the responsibility of designing electrical appliances as well as the wiring system of electricity to ensure supply of electricity to these appliances. Electrical engineers are concerned with designing the flight systems of aircrafts and rocket propulsion systems. Industrial automation and automobile control system design are also a part of electrical engineering. Electrical engineering has an important role to play in many other fields of study. For instance, signal processing makes use of the principles of electrical engineering in modifying the digital and analog nature of the signals to obtain the required output.
Electrical Engineering is the one of core branch of Engineering. The basic infrastructure like electrical power plays the major role in the developing economy. The knowledge of fundamentals of electrical engineering is essential for almost all streams. The Department Of Electrical Engineering provides in depth education & prepares its students for all the possible future career & developments in technology. Department has a fine blend of experienced as well as young dynamic enthusiastic personalities as faculty for providing quality education at both B.E.(Electrical) and M.Tech.(Power Electronics and Power System). It aims to promote research and teaching activity based on advanced and novel teaching methods. Technical experts from the industries and institution also contribute to the institute with their knowledge and experience.
